The Pulse Safety Net

Community united through neighbors helping neighbors

Pine Mountain Club is a peaceful, beautiful place to live. It is also very rugged and subject to intense weather conditions and other major natural events. While our distance from more populated communities is a big part of why we love it here, it can also be very isolating for some of our community members. In some cases, it can be dangerous.

The Pulse Safety Net is a program supported by the Pine Mountain Club Property Owner's Association Emergency Preparedness Committee in conjunction with both the CERT program and our radio communications program, The Radio Safety Net.

GOALS of the Pulse Safety Net:

  • To connect neighbors with each other in geographic regions of the mountain in order to better serve all PMC residents in the case of an emergency, evacuation, or inclement weather.

  • To train neighbors and area leads on the use of radio communication through the Radio Safety Net program.

  • To ensure that each geographic region's Safety Net Lead will be able to communicate the needs of their group with a central base during an emergency.

  • To assign neighbors in each region who can pick up and deliver prescriptions, take household trash in, deliver food, and help neighbors with evacuations, if necessary, prior to or during a major weather event or emergency.

  • To ensure we are all better prepared before a major event with backup food, water, and supplies.

With a little effort, we can make this mountain safer for us all!
